PSYCHOTHERAPY AND COUNSELLING IN GUILDFORD, SURREY
Psychotherapy or counselling is offered here at our Guildford Clinic to those experiencing a range of emotions or feelings such as anxiety, depression, stress or confusion that may be undermining their quality of life. These feelings may have been brought on by bereavement, work, money or relationship issues or traumatic events from the past.
Our experienced and highly qualified therapists will explore these issues confidentially and in a non-judgemental manner enabling clients to speak more freely and openly in a completely safe environment.
The sessions, which can be short or long term, will gradually equip the client to move on with more confidence and resilience and make any positive changes that may be necessary.

WHAT TO EXPECT
WHAT TO EXPECT
Initial assessment
The initial assessment is a time for us to explore the issues you want to work on, including outlining your goals. The assessment is usually 60-90 minutes, and we will gently ask you some questions about your history, current issues, factors affecting how you feel, and what you want to change going forward. It’s also a time for you to ask questions, so you are clear on how we can help you.
At the assessment, we will set up a treatment plan for you, which will include the likely number of sessions, and the focus of the treatment. If you are looking for a longer-term therapy, we can plan for this also!
Ongoing treatment
Following the assessment, treatment will start, generally weekly either face-to-face, on zoom/skype/vsee or via the phone. We will spend 50 minutes, either talking about whatever it is that brings you to therapy or working on exercises and worksheets. The therapy is tailored to your needs and wants, and each session will be planned out, to suit you.
When you are ready to finish the sessions, we will work to an ending, giving you time to review what you have learnt, and set up a plan to keep you well.
